كتاب يحمل الكثير من الأفكار والحكم عن الحياة بين المرأة والشباب والشيوخ والرؤيا التي يحملونها للنفس والحياة... تكلم ليوباردي أيضا عن التربية والصحة وحتى القراءة وما يعانيه الكتاب من ضعف في الأسلوب والأفكار وهذا ما نجده في وقتنا الحاضر. كتاب يعني بأفكار ليوباردي ذاك الشاعر الإيطالي، التي تحوي أفكاره على الغوص في النفس البشرية من اعتقادات وأوهام وحقائق وطبيعتها بأفعالها وأقولها وتفكيرها وصلتها بمن حولها، كما ينتقد في كتابه بعض الأمور الخاصة بانحدار الجوهر وارتفاع المظهر وقد حرص ليوباردي على طرح أفكاره عبر تجريب أجناس مختلفة من الشعر وأجناس مختلفة من النثر، بأسلوب يتسم بالأصالة والفرادة.
