تتناول رواية (طيور إثيوبيا) للكاتب والذي قام بتأليفها \"علي الشدوي\" في حوالي (112) صفحة من القطع المتوسط، معاناة اللاجئين الفارين من الصومال إلى جيبوتي ورحلة الحرب الأهلية في أثيوبيا، ففتحت نافذة على تلك المآسي، وغاصت في (حيوات اللاجئين، البغايا، الحروب، التشرد)، من حيث طقوسهم وأمانيهم وآمالهم، من خلال \"فارح نور\" الذي عهد إليه بدور الراوي في الرواية حيث يبدأ بسرد حكايته : \"لم تكن الحرب عند فارح نور الجامعي، خريج قسم الفلسفة من جامعة الفاتح الذي أرغمته الحرب على أن يعمل سائقا، سوى جروح عميقة لا تشبه ما يتحدث عنه الناس الذين لم يعيشوها.\"
