القندس رواية تتناول العديد من جوانب الحياة وتعري الكثير من عيوب المجتمع وتشير إلى سلبياته تحكي قصة شاب سعودي يعيش في كنف عائلة مفككة من أب غير راض عن سلوكياته وأم تركته منذ نعومة أظافره. يسترجع البطل قصة حياته ويقلبها في ذاكرته ليخلص نفسه من ضغوطها السلبية وآلامها النفسية العميقة التي رافقته منذ الصغر. وعن سبب إختياره لهذا العنوان يقول الكاتب : إن القندس هو حيوان نهري ينتشر في مناطق من أوروبا وشمال أمريكا، ويشتهر بالسدود التي يبنيها في عرض النهر لحماية العائلة، ليربط بذلك بين أخلاق حيوان وعائلة جنوبية تسكن الرياض، وأضاف إن روايته تصنف ضمن الدراما الاجتماعية بعيدا عن العاطفة ومختلفة عن بقية رواياته.
