وكأنى بكيليطو يشعر بأنه لم يؤد بعد دين الليالي ؛ ذلك أنها شكلت كتابه الأول بلا زيادة (كيليطو : أنبئوني بالرؤيا)، وكانت العلاقة بها هي فاتحة دخوله عالم القراءة الاحترافية (كيليطو: الأدب والارتياب). وثمة أسباب أخرى أكثر وجاهة، وهي : غنى هذا الأثر على مستوى أشكاله وبنياته، وتقاطعه مع كثير من الآثار الكونية في قضاياه، ثم انطواؤه على طاقة جمالية هائلة وساحرة. هكذا يعود كاتبنا إلى الليالي بعنوان جديد : «من نبحث عنه بعيدا، يقطن قريبا»، بأسلوبه المعهود ؛ أسلوب الحكاية، والبحث في الهوامش، ليقدم لنا قراءة تظهر غنى الليالي الثقافي والتاريخي بما تخلقه من امتدادات وتماثلات مع نصوص أخرى من مختلف المشارب : القرآن الكريم، وسفر التكوين، والأوديسة، وملحمة جلجامش، وجاك القدري، والبحث عن الزمن الضائع، وقصص الأنبياء، وكتابات بورخيس، والكوميديا الإلهية.
