هذه الدراسة تتناول الفرضية القائلة أن شعور الجمهور بالظلم والخوف من عدم العدالة والإنصاف مؤسس على عوامل نفسية (أي مدى شعورهم بالعدالة والإنصاف) وليس على عوامل واقعية (أي النتائج التى يحصلون عليها من العمل الشرطي) وذلك بتحليل اتجاهات الجمهور أثناء اتصالهم بالشرطة، هذه العوامل التى تتكهن بشعور الجمهور تم استخلاصها باستخدام البيانات التى جمعت خلال استطلاع العلاقة بين الجمهور والشرطة.
