جاءت في ثلاثة فصول هي تعالق السرد الروائي مع (ألف ليلة وليلة) و(تهجين السرد) و(المأثور الشعبي والأسطوري)، تضمن هذا الكتاب فكرة أنه إذا كان التراث على هذا القدر من الاتساع وإذا كان مفهومه على هذا القدر من الاختلاف، وإذا كنا قد افترضنا أن أي تعالق نصي مع التراث يفترض بداية الاتكاء على منظور تأويلي دقيق، إذا كان ذلك فالمنهج التحليلي الذي يمكنه استكشاف هذه الأبعاد واختبار قدرتها على إنجاز أهدافها، لا بد أن يتكئ على معطيات تأويلية، فالتأويل ينطلق من مبدأ عام، هو أن الملتقى يقيم حوارا مع النص، يلقي عليه أسئلته التي هي بعض تجاربة، وهذه الأسئلة هي، في الوقت نفسه، جزء لا يتجزأ من أسئلة النص.
