يتضمن هذا الكتاب مجموعة من المقالات ّ يشكل معنى النص الشعري محورا لها، وإذا كان بعضها قد اهتم بقضايا القراءة، فإن مقالات أخرى اتخذت من مقاربة النصوص مادتها. فقد اختار الكاتب البحث في موضوع العلاقة التي تربط بين الشاعر والقارئ، والتي تحددها عملية فهم النص الشاعري. فهل يصل المعنى المقصود نفسه الذي أراده الشاعر والذي ّشكل خلفية نصه، إلى القارئ؟ ً على الدوام بمجرد ظهور النص الشعري؟ وما هي أم أن تأويل المعنى بطريقة مغايرة يصبح جائزا طبيعة النصوص التي تحتمل أكثر من معنى، أو التي تتضمن غموضا يسمح بتعدد تأويل معناها؟ وهل ثمة أهمية فعلية لهذا التساؤل؟ وما هي حقيقة تحقيق التفاعل بين طرفي عملية القراءة؟.
