يأتي هذا الكتاب على هامش معرض الصور الذي يأتي بعنوان (عمان.. قوافي من السماء) للمصور خميس المحاربي وهو نفس عنوان هذا الكتاب، وهو بمثابة قواف صاغتها عدسة المصور الفوتوغرافي خميس بن علي المحاربي في 26 صورة استعرضت جمال ملامح الحياة في السلطنة، وتنوع وسحر الطبيعة الغناء ويعد أول كتاب يصدر في السلطنة يبرز جمال الطبيعة والتاريخ العريق والحاضر المشرق لجميع الولايات العمانية الواحدة والستين من خلال الصور الجوية التي صورت من خلال التحليق الجوي بالطائرة العمودية وتقع صفحات الكتاب في حوالي (329) صفحة، حيث استغرقت أعمال التصوير الجوي للكتاب بالطائرة العمودية مدة 23 سنة بساعات طيران التي تمت خلالها أعمال التصوير الجوي 330 ساعة وضم الكتاب أقدم صورة تم تصويرها في عام 1990 م، من خلال رحلات السفر إلى صلالة فيما استغرق التحضير للإعداد للكتاب مدة 3 سنوات.
