يحاول الدكتور زيعور دراسة عدم التوازن بين الذات العربية وجعلها أو الخلل في صحتها الانفعالية الذي يمثل في عدم الشعور بالرضى عن الذات إزاء نفسها، وعن الذات في المجتمع، وعن المجتمع أمام \"الحضارة العالمية\"، كأن إنساننا اليوم مطروح في حقل هو في موقف العدو له : لا ينال الفرد في مجتمعه قيمة، ولا يأخذ إشباعا لحاجياته الحياتية ومستوياتها، ولا لمشاعره بالأمن ثم الثقة بالمستقبل، ولا لتحقيق ذاته. والباحث يرى بأن توفير تلك الصحة، التي هي توازن قطاعات الأنا ثم بين الأنا وحقلها المنقح على العالم، يحرر الطاقات الإبداعية، ويصوغ النظرة الأصيلة للرد على مجابهات العصر، من أجل البناء الاثنين، الصحة الانفعالية في الرد والاستقرار والمعقلن في المجتمع، وكان عمله في دراسته هذه نظرات تحليلية للسلوك، الفكر الراهن من جهة، وعلى جذوره المتغذية بالتراث، وعلى واقع المجتمع من جهة أخرى.
