معاوية بن أبي سفيان رضي الله عنهما خال المسلمين ومؤسس الدولة الأموية بعد عصر الخلفاء الراشدين، أسلم يوم فتح مكة وولاه الخليفة عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه الشام، وبعد مقتل الخليفة الراشد عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه رفع لواء القصاص من قتله عثمان باعتباره ولي الدم ولم يبايع الإمام عليا رضي الله عنه بالخلافة واشترط القصاص من قتله عثمان أولا. فتقرأ في هذا الكتاب سيرة هذا الصحابي بموضعية وحيادية وتتعرف علي أصول عائلته وقبيلته ومكانتها من قريش والصراع على السلطة والنفوذ بين بني هاشم وبني أمية، وتقرأ عن شجرة عائلة معاوية، الأب والأم والإخوة والأخوات. وتقرأ عن إسلام معاوية وأبيه وأمه وإخوته وأخواته.
