يمثل هذا العمل تحقيقا للمخطوطة التاريخية المسماة : تاريخ القاضي، لمؤلفها : إبراهيم بن محمد بن عبد الله القاضي، المتوفي في عنيزة بالقصيم في وسط المملكة العربية السعودية عام 1346 هـ (1927 م)، والتي سجل فيها المؤلف أهم الحوادث التاريخية والسياسية في إقليم نجد عموما في مرحلة تأسيس الدولة السعودية الحالية، وشيئا من حوادث الدولة السعودية في مرحلتها الثانية وبعض الحوادث العالمية ذات العلاقة بالوطن العربي ؛ وبخاصة بين عامي 1290 و1345 هـ (1873-1926 م). وتتضمن الدراسة التعريف بالمؤلف، وشيئا من حياته وسيرته، ثم وصف مخطوطته والتعريف بها، والإشارة إلى أهم من أشار إليها، أو استفاد منها من الكتاب والباحثين.
