هذا الكتاب نثار حياة شاعر. سيرة تناوب على بعثرتها غيب وشهادة، لاهوت وناسوت. وفيه يفصح الشاعر عن جرحه السري المزدوج: الله والشعر، حتى الشاعر أحمد عبد الحسين وفي عتبة أولى من الكتاب، يعترف: \"أن هذه الصفحات ليست سيرة حياة، ولا تريد أن تكون كذلك. هي محض استذكار لما فعله الشاعر بي. مقاطع مستلة من ذاكرة شاعر انشغل مطول بالله وبالشعر انشغالا مديدا، بديهي أن يكون الشعر مؤثرا بصاحبه، وأن يضع له يد على كل موضع من مواضع حياته، ما من تسلسل زمني أو موضعي يربط هذه النصوص والتأملات. كل شيء مبعثر كما لو أن الشعر مر هنا كعاصفة وقلب الأشياء وجعلها رميما منثورا. هكذا مضت حياتي مع الشعر خبط عشواء فلا تكاد تعثر على نظام يضبطها أو منطق يفهرسها، فجاء هذا الكتاب على شاكلتها.
