كتاب جديد لرحالة شهير ارتبط اسمه بمدينة صنعاء في القرن التاسع عشر، ألا وهو الإيطالي رنزو مانزوني، الذي تميزت سيرة حياته بنزوعه الجريء إلى الترحال في مجاهل البلاد واقتحام المخاطر، وأشهر رحلاته بالطبع كانت في اليمن، إذ قام بثلاث رحلات على امتداد ثلاث سنين بين 1877-1880 توجه في الأولى بينها من عدن إلى صنعاء، ومن خلال إقامته الطويلة هناك وحرية الحركة التي حظي بها، تمكن من دراسة طبوغرافيتها ومجتمعها بشكل واف وتام. يعد كتاب مانزوني عملا أصيلا في فن \"أدب الرحلة\" قدم فيه رواية حية تفاعلية لأحداث ممتعة يغلب عليها أسلوب الرواية الشخصية.
