الرواية القصيرة ترتيلة للكاتبة آيان راند هذا العمل القصير عمل موشوري يمكن رؤيته من نواح عدة فقد يراه أحد رفض للنظام الجماعي المهيمن في الاتحاد السوفياتي ومستعمراته وقد يراه البعض خيال علمي وحديث عن مأزق مستقبلي سنمر به إن حدث ومرت الأرض بحرب نووية ونجت فئة واحدة منها مثلا وقد يراه بعض آخر وأنا منهم إنه عمل يتحدث عن نمو الذات في عالم يقدم \"نحن\" على \"انا\" فهذا العمل يحكي عن فئة من المجتمع الجمعي الذي يقدس الأفكار الجمعية والمتعارف عليها فئة قررت أن تطرح الأسئلة وأن تبحث بنفسها على الأجوبة عنها لا أن تستقصي تلك الأجوبة من كبار القوم وتراثهم وقد شعرت هذه الفئة بداية بالذنب لانها بدأت تطرح تلك الأسئلة وهذا واضح من خلال الفقرة التي قالت فيها الفئة \"الأسئلة تعيينا ولا ندري لم تحضنا لعنتنا على البحث عن شيء لا ندري ما هو وهذا الشعور بالذنب يشبه كثيرا الشعور الذي يمر به المراهقون في مجال الفكر الأثني والسياسي.
