ليس الغرض من تأليف هذا الكتاب هو جرح مشاعر ضحايا قصر النهاية ومديرية الأمن العامة الذين اعتقلوا لأسباب ودوافع مختلفة حقيقية وغير حقيقية من الشيوعيين والبعثيين اليساريين ووزراء ومسؤولي الحكومات الجمهورية التي جاءت بعد انقلاب 18 تشرين الثاني 1963 حتى يوم 17 تموز 1968 كما ليس من هدفي تبييض سمعة المرحوم ناظم كزار أو الدفاع عن أخطائه وتجاوزاته وهو الذي أرتكب مخالفات تصل إلى حد ارتكاب الجريمة بحق المعارضين والخصوم السياسيين الذين اعتقلوا وسجنوا.
