هذا الكتاب مخطوطات وضعها كارل ماركس ولم يكملها، فلم تطبع إلا بعد وفاته بكثير. وتستمد أهميتها من أنها : أولا : تبين الانعطاف من الاقتصاد الكلاسيكي إلى الاقتصاد الماركسي أو الاقتصاد الاشتراكي. ثانيا : تبين الانعطاف من هيجل إلى ماركس والتفكير الماركسي. ثالثا : تشرح المفاهيم الأساسية التي قامت عليها الماركسية : الضياع، الديالكتيك، الاشتراكية، إلخ.. رابعا : ما يأخذه ماركس منذ انطلاقته الأولى على الاقتصاد البورجوازي. فبذور تفكير ماركس حاضرة بأكملها في هذه المخطوطات. والكتاب ضروري لكل مثقف يحب أن يعرف نشوه المار كسية الأول ليتسنى له تتبع تطور التفكير الماركسي.
