ما يهمنا في هذه الدراسة تصورات المسرح الإسلامي في ضوء المقاربة المقاصدية التي تربط الوسائل بالغايات والأهداف ومقاصد الشريعة الإسلامية. أي ربط الفنون بالكليات الضرورية والحاجيات والتحسينات والقواعد التشريعية والأصولية التي ينبني عليها التشريع الرباني. بمعنى استكشاف مختلف المقاصد التي تتضمنها التصورات المسرحية العربية الإسلامية. وليس بحثي طرحا فقهيا محضا في موضوع المقاصد؛ بل هو بحث أدبي وفني وجمالي ينظر في وظيفة المسرح وفق النسق المقاصدي، أو فق حاجيات المجتمع الضرورية ليس إلا.
