يعرض المؤلف عوامل الرفض المسنودة إلى الشعور بالظلم الاجتماعي والاقتصادي والسياسي، ويحلل طبيعة الحراك كثورة اجتماعية اعتمدت على القوة الشعبية والسلمية، محورها الشباب والتكنولوجيا (وسائل التواصل) كما يتناول طبيعة الهوية الاجتماعية المتعددة الأبعاد ضمن الحراك، وصعوبات تحول هذا الحراك لتيارات مؤسسية جامعة، وما نجم عن ذلك من تعثر في مرحلة الانتقال السياسي، وضعف تطوير الحركات السياسية، وتحديات في بناء توافق اجتماعي شامل يؤكد كذلك الكاتب على الطابع الوطني غير الطائفي لهذا الحراك، والذي شمل قطاعا واسعا من أطياف المجتمع، مؤكدا الطابع السلمي والعصري في التعبير، رغم محاولة الأنظمة القمعية توصيفه ك \"أعمال شغب\" وينتهي بدرس العوائق المؤسسية التي واجهت الانتقال، وبحنو المؤلف نحو ضرورة وجود إطار يضم مختلف الفواعل الاجتماعية والإصلاح السياسي والثقافي، لتجاوز حالة التمزق والانقسام بعد الثورة.
