Overview
يتحدث الكاتب (ستيفن كين) بعد نهاية الجزء الأول لرواية (البريق) والتي كتبت أول مرة في عام 1980 م، ومرور ثلاثة عشر عام تأتي هذه الرواية (طبيب النوم) كجزء ثاني للرواية وهنا يكبر بطل الرواية \"دان تورانس\" الطفل الذي نجا بعد الاحداث المروعة التي مر بها في فندق الأوفرلوك ليصبح مدمنا على الكحول كوالده ويعيش حياة بائسة يتنقل فيها بين أعمال متفرقة ليعاش عليها، حتى يطرأ له حادثة غريبة لا يعرف لها تفسير في بأداء الأمر! ويتلقى \"دان تورانس\" في شقته التي استأجرها رسالة على سبورة معلقة فيها تدخله في مغامرة غريبة وتعرفه بشخصية فتاة تدعى \"إبرا\" تتمتع هي أيضا بالبريق الذي يتمتع به وتطلب منه مساعدة غريبة من نوعها! ومن خلال أحداث تلك الرواية نعرف : ما هي تلك المساعدة يا ترى؟! وهل سيتمكن من تقديم العون لها ؟! وما هي حقيقة الصلة التي تربط داني بـ\"إبرا\" وما علاقة فندق الأوفرلوك بكل ذلك ؟! وما علاقة تلك العصابة وفتى البيسبول مع كل من دان وإبرا ؟
