هذه الرواية تعتبر من روايات المغامرة العالمية في الأدب الإنجليزي، للأديب هاورد بيل وتدور أحداثها منذ سنوات بعيدة، عاش في إنجلترا عندما كان يعتلي عرشها الملك الصالح هنري الثاني، رجل ذائع الصيت خارج عن القانون وكان يقطن غابة شيروود بالقرب من مدينة نوتينجهام، اسمه (روبين هود). الشاب القوي الذي يبلغ طوله ستة أذرع ذو العينين الزرقاوين اللامعتين لم يوجد من يرقى إلى مستواه في رشق السهام. ولم يوجد أصدقاء مثل الرجال الذين كانوا يجوبون الغابة بمعية روبين، يلعبون ألعاب الرماية ويصطادون الغزلان. وكان الناس في المدينة يحبون أن يتناقلوا القصة التي تحكي كيف أصبح روبين خارجا عن القانون.
