يتناول فيلم \"فهرنهايت 451 فيلم من إخراج فرانسوا تروفو؛ ترجمة سمير فريد\" والذي كتب في (200) صفحة من القطع المتوسط موضوع (الأفلام السينمائية)، يتحدث الفيلم عن المستقبل الجائر, تحت السلطة القمعية الاستبدادية, حيث فرضت في أن تطغى وسائل الإعلام المرئية والمسموعة وشبكات التلفزة على غير وسائل أخرى. لتدمير الثقافة والأدب, السلطة تحارب مطالعة الكتب الأدبية والعلمية والفلسفية وشتى أنواع الفنون, تقوم بإهانة المواطن الذي يتجرأ امتلاك الكتب وترويجها فضلا عن إحراقها, التي تركت تلك المهمة تحت تصرف رجال الإطفاء بدلا من إنقاذ الناس من الحرائق, بل تحرق الكتب بدرجة 451 فهرنهايت وهي درجة حرارية مطلوبة يحترق فيها الورق لتحويلها إلى الرماد !
