من أحدث الكتب التي تناولت موضوع الاستشراق، وخصوصا من خلال معطيات ترجمة معاني \"القرآن الكريم\"، حيث يشير الكاتب د. مصطفى عبد الغني إلى أنه عمد إلى أن يتناول تفصيليا أحدث ترجمة للمستشرق الفرنسي جاك بيرك. لقد تم ترجمة معاني القرآن لأكثر من عشرين ترجمة بالفرنسية وحدها، كانت أولها على يد القساوسة .. ولأهداف لا تخفى من البحث عن مداخل مناسبة إلى عقول العرب والمسلمين، وإن بدت حديثا تلك النشاطات الثقافية ضمن جمعيات ومؤسسات مختلفة، فهي تحت متابعة وملاحقة المخابرات في تلك البلدان، ومن هنا تبدو أهمية الترجمة والكتاب. مع العلم أن المسلمين المقيمين في فرنسا يبلغ عددهم عشرة ملايين نسمة.
