رواية (جلباب العابد) لـ عادل بن مبارك الدوسري وقد جاء فيها (أصاب من قال إن الرأي العام هو المستبد الأكبر اجتماعيا وسياسيا، حيث يرتدع الكثيرون عن مخالفته علنا، نأيا بأنفسهم عن الإدانة التي تلحق بهم جراء ذلك. لكن الاستبداد استقواء باسم الدفاع عن الدين والمحافظة على التدين، هو أشد وطأة على المخالف للأعراف المتوارثة. وهذا ما عانى منه بطل هذه الرواية وهو شيخ وابن شيخ مجبب وواعظ له جمهرة من التلاميذ والأتباع، يواظبون على دروس حفظ القرآن وتدبر آياته. وأتبع القول بالفعل فطار صواب والده الشيخ، الذي كان قد ضبطه ابنه خلسة بأمر مشين، مما دفعه للانقطاع عن متابعة دروس القرآن واستئصال شعر لحيته، وأثار نقمة شعبية أخرى ضده في صفوف الإخوان الصالحين. هذه المخالفة التي رآها أقامت عليه الدنيا، خصوصا من قبل والده (الجليل) فكيف تتصورون ما يمكن أن يحدث في حياة لابس جلباب العابد لاحقا بعد هذه التحولات)
