طرحت الهيئة المصرية العامة للكتاب، حديثا، كتابا جديدا عن القارئ الشيخ محمود علي البنا، من تأليف ابنته الكاتبة الصحفية آمال البنا، تحت عنوان محمود علي البنا. . صوت لا يغيب. والشيخ محمود علي البنا واحد من أساطير التلاوة في مصر، عاش نصف قرن من حياته مع القرآن الكريم، فشكل القرآن شخصيته وأكسبه القيم والأخلاق. واستهل الكتاب بمقدمة لنقيب القراء الأسبق، الشيخ أبو العينين شعيشع، قال فيها: لقد قبض الله تعالى رجالا أفذاذا أفنوا حياتهم في خدمة القرآن الكريم وتلاوته وتجويده على مر العصور والأجيال، من هؤلاء العظام، كان الشيخ محمود علي البنا، ذلك الرجل الذي نذر نفسه ووقته لخدمة القرآن وتلاوته. واستعرضت الابنة نشأة وحياة الشيخ البنا منذ مولده في 17 ديسمبر 1926.
