يتناول هذا المقال بالدراسة صورة المرأة في شعر صعاليك ما قبل الإسلام، مقدما صورة مفارقة للصورة النمطية للمرأة كما تجلت عند (شعراء القبيلة). فقد تعودنا - في ما درسنا من شعر جاهلي- عن احتفاء هذا الشعر بجسد المرأة، وتفصيل الوصف لأعضائها ومفاتنها. ولكن شعر الصعاليك تحدث عن المرأة بوصفها كائنا يحس ويشعر، ويشارك في صناعة الحياة إلى جنب الرجل: فإذا المرأة عندهم حبيبة، وزوجة حريصة على زوجها، ورفيق معين في الضراء قبل السراء.
