Overview
عندما تعترض حياة الناس بعض الظواهر الطبيعية أو الاجتماعية والاقتصادية...، ولا يجد لها أي تفسير أو تعليل علمي قائم على دليل منطقي، فإنه يتلقف أي تفسير يجده أمامه جاهزا، ليشعره بنوع من الراحة والأمن النفسي، ويبعد عنه الخوف والقلق والتوتر، إلا أن هذا الشعور لا يدوم إلا لفترة قصيرة. وهذا التفسير عادة ما يكون غير طبيعي- أي ما وراء الطبيعة- أو غيبي، وغير مؤسس علميا، ليجد بذلك التفكير الخرافي مكانه في أذهان أبناء المجتمع رغم اختلافهم في المستويات التعليمية، والجنس (ذكور- إناث) والبيئة التي يسكنون فيها.
