Overview
This study aims to investigate the effect of nepotism on organizational commitment and employee engagement in Lebanese family businesses. Using a convenient sampling design, 378 respondents from family-owned businesses in Lebanon representing different administrative levels and various sectors were selected to complete the study questionnaire. The findings of the study indicate that nepotism has a negative influence on organizational commitment and engagement. The current study provides policymakers, managers, and human resource management practitioners in Lebanese family-owned businesses with insightful guidelines for developing strategies and policies to mitigate the impact of nepotism and foster employee commitment and engagement.
