Overview
يرى محمد إقبال أن العقل، والتاريخ، والنظر في السنن وآيات الأنفس والآفاق، هي بدائل تحل محل النبوة بعد ختمها، وهذه البدائل من حقها أن تنسخ الإجماع ولو كان هذا الإجماع إجماع الصحابة، ويرى أن السنة النبوية فيها أحكام تشريعية شرعها الرسول -صلى الله عليه وسلّم- لطائفة من الناس في زمانه ولا تناسب غيرهم، لذلك لا يمكن تطبيق هذه الأحاديث وما اشتملت عليه من أحكام على الأجيال اللاحقة، وضرب لذلك مثالا بحد الردة، ويرى أن الكون في تطور، ولا بد من مواكبة هذا التطور، ومن ذلك أنه لا بد من تغيير بعض الأحكام لتوافق التطور الحاصل والواقع، وبناء على ذلك فإن مفهوم ختم النبوة عند محمد إقبال يخالف الكتاب والسنة وإجماع المسلمين.
