Overview
Bir Osmanlı şirketi olan Tramvay Şirketi, yatırımlarını rasyonel parametrelere göre yönlendiren ve işletme performansını günümüzde de geçerli olan işletme göstergeleri ile ölçen ve değerlendiren, Avrupa şehirlerinde faaliyet gösteren diğer işletme otoriteleri ile bilgi akışı sağlayan ve kıyaslama yapan modern bir raylı sistem işletmesidir. Kırk bir yıl süren atlı tramvay ve akabinde devam eden elektrikli tramvay dönemlerine ait faaliyetleri içeren işletme verileri, şehir içi hareketliliğin (mobilitenin) dönüşümünü ve yönünü ortaya koymaktadır. Kurumun kendi belgelerinden elde edilen sayısal bilgilerin tek bir havuza aktarılması sonucunda oluşturulan veri serileri, işletmenin seyrini gösterdiği gibi döneme ait insan davranışları ve şehrin gelişimi hakkında da fikir vermektedir.
