En este texto el autor pretende reivindicar la poesía de un autor que es totalmente desconocido para las nuevas generaciones, Francisco Torres Dávila. Después de que sus textos aparecieran en varias revistas literarias ecuatorianas y publicara dos libros de poesía, Torres Dávila guardó un total silencio literario; dejó de publicar y desapareció, por voluntad propia, del panorama cultural del país. Hace poco se conoció la noticia de su muerte, de ahí la necesidad de recordar su obra literaria, pues sin duda es una de las voces poéticas más importantes de su generación.
