Recent changes to Australia’s child support scheme – assessment of financial impacts – comparison of key policy elements of old and new scheme – results indicate that non-resident parents are more likely than resident parents to experience net gains under the new scheme and that negative outcomes are most likely for low income families – need for monitoring the operation of the new scheme.
