Overview
يتتبع هذا البحث محاولات مؤرخي الحروب الصليبية في تدوين ما عصروه أو شاهدوه أو نقلوه، معتمداً في ذلك على تقسيم هؤلاء المؤرخين إلى مؤرخين غربيين أو ما يعرف بالمصادر الأوروبية والتي تشمل الإغريقية واللاتينية من ناحية. والمصادر الشرقية التي تشمل العربية والسريانية والأرمنية أو ما يعرف بمؤرخي صلاح الدين من ناحية أخرى. ولا شك أن المادة والفترة موضوع الدراسة واسعة وطويلة. غير أن غاية البحث فيها هو التركيز على مصادر الحروف الصليبية ومحاولة إعطاء صورة ولو أولية عن المؤلف ومصدره وتقديم نبذة بسيطة عن كل مصدر مجملين هذه المصادر في نهاية الدراسة بقائمة تشملها جميعاً.
