إن اهتمام قاسم أمين \" بقضية المرأة يدخل ضمن إشكالية النهضة؛ لأن إثارة هذه القضية يستدعى بالضرورة قضايا أخرى، كالتعليم وحرية المواطن، وغيرها من القضايا الاجتماعية والسياسية والاقتصادية؛ فقاسم أمين يرى أن تحرير المرأة من استبداد الرجل يؤدي إلى التخلص من الاستبداد السياسي فيتحقق بذلك التقدم والحرية للشعب بكامله، فهو في تفكيره لم يكن بمعزل عن اهتمامات الطهطاوي\" والإمام \"محمد عبده، كما أنه جعل تفكيره مجرد استجابة امتثالية في إطار التبعية الفكرية للغرب.
