بينت الدراسة أن المصدر النائب عن فعل الأمر دلالته طلبية تفيد الوجوب، وأنه يؤدي معناه، ولا يجتمع مع فعله، وفاعله مستتر وجوبا، ويعمل عمل فعل الأمر. تشير الدراسة إلى أن المصدر دلالته على الزمان مجهولة، وتعقل حقيقته دون الزمان، وإنما الزمان من لوازمه، وليس من مقوماته بخلاف الفعل، فصارت دلالة المصدر على الزمان التزاما، وليست من اللفظ، وبذلك تفصل المصادر من الأفعال، وأن المصدر هو الأصل. تؤكد الدراسة على أن عدول المشرع عن استخدام الفعل إلى المصدر فيه فائدة وإضافة على الدلالة، كما أن العدول بالمصدر النائب عن فعل الأمر، من النصب إلى الرفع فيه أيضا فائدة في استمرارية الدلالة.
