Overview
يتناول البحث الجانب الاجتماعي لثورة الزنج التي حدثت عام (255- 270هـ) (869- 883م) تعد هذه الثورة من الثورات البارزة التي حدثت في العصر العباسي والتي تمركزت حول مدينة البصرة وامتدت لأكثر من أربعة عشر عاما قبل أن تنجح الدولة العباسية في هزيمتها، بدأت الحركة من قبل زنوج شرق إفريقيا الذين جيء بهم إلى المنطقة وامتدت الثورة لتشمل العديد من العبيد والأحرار في مناطق عدة، فقد ثار الزنج على المالكين وأسسوا حكومة لهم كان مقرها جنوب البصرة وهددت الدولة العباسية فجندت كل إمكانياتها لتسحقها، يركز البحث على الأسباب الحقيقية لهذه الثورة التي كانت أطول الثورات وأخطرها.
