نتناول في هذه الدراسة واحدا من أهم المفكرين الأمريكان الأفارقة اليساريين المرموقين، وهو الفيلسوف والأديب والناقد والممثل والمغني «كورنل دونالد ويست» Cornel Ronald West صاحب «الغزو الأمريكي للفلسفة» والذي وصفة أستاذه «ريتشارد رورتي» Richard Rorty بأنه مفكر «وطني» و«متدين» و «رومانسي». وتعرض الدراسة ثلاثة محاور نراها معبرة عن فلسفته وهي: أولا: البراجماتية الرسولية. ثانيا: مفهوم الفيلسوف للديمقراطية ثالثا: مشكلة التمييز العنصري و\"العدمية السوداء\" والتطور الأخير الذي طرأ على فلسفته.
