استهدف البحث الحالي قياس الإشفاق الذاتي (self-compassion)لدى كبار السن يتم التعرف على الإشفاق الذاتي لدى كبار السن وفقا لمتغير الجنس، ومكان الإقامة خارج دور المسنين وداخل دور المسنين .بلغت عينة البحث الحالي (286) من كبار السن في محافظة بغداد بالطريقة العشوائية. أداة البحث: تم تبني مقياس نيف (2003) Neffتعريب جرجيس (2010). وبعدها تم استخراج الخصائص السيكومترية للمقياس. أظهرت نتائج البحث: لدى كبار السن إشفاق ذاتي دال إحصائيا، وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا لدى كبار السن خارج الدور ولا توجد فروق دالة إحصائيا وفق متغير الجنس.
