Overview
The study investigated the influence of Montessori method-based instruction on EFL vocabulary achievement among EFL primary pupils. The participants were 110 pupils, who were randomly chosen during the first semester of the school year 2019-2020 from EFL primary one pupils, Gharbia Governorate. The participants were assigned into \"treatment\" and \"non-treatment\" groups. The treatment group pupils (N=55) studied according to Montessori method, whereas the non-treatment group pupils (N=55) received ordinary class-based instruction. The instrument used in the study, prepared by the researcher, was a pre-post vocabulary achievement test. Testing the two groups was applied before and after the experimentation. The t-test for independent and paired samples was used. The results indicated that using Montessori method had positive effects on EFL pupils1 vocabulary achievement. In the light of the results of the study, the researcher provided pedagogical implications, recommendations and suggestions for future research.
