Overview
منذ فجر التاريخ كان للصورة دور في تعليم الإنسان والمحافظة على خبراته وتجاربه الحياتية، إذ عرفها الإنسان في مرحلة سابقة من تطور اللغة، فأصبحت أداة تعبير شائعة لديه، ومعبرة عن الكلمات والجمل في اللغة، فلقد تغير موقعها ومكانتها عبر التاريخ، إذ كانت تتمتع بطابعها السحري، إلى اكتسابها الطابع المقدس في العصر القديم، ثم تحولت إلى مادة موجهة إلى النخبة (الفئة الأرستقراطية في المجتمع)، ثم اكتسبت الصورة الطابع الشعبي بعد انتشار التعليم والقراءة في المجتمع، خاصة بعد اكتشاف وسائل إعادة إنتاجها بشكل جماهيري.
