هدفت الدراسة إلى تحليل الأطر النظرية لاستخدام \"القوة\" في العلاقات الدولية لدى كل من المنظور الغربي المعاصر، والمنظور الإسلامي، واستعرضت الدراسة أهم التطورات التي لحقت بمفهوم \"القوة\" في حقل العلاقات الدولية، في المنظور الغربي المعاصر، وأهم عناصر \"القوة\"، ودلالاتها، وأبعادها في المنظور الإسلامي، ومن خلال توظيف المنهجين الوصفي التحليلي، والمقارن، حاولت الدراسة تقديم مقارنة تحليلية لأوجه التشابه والاختلاف بين المنظورين وكيفية استخدامها للقوة، وبينت الدراسة كيفية الوصول إلى شكل أمثل لاستخدام القوة في العلاقات الدولية عبر دراسة كلا المنظورين.
