تتناول هذه الورقة البحثية موضوع نظرة الأدب الفرنسي لشخصية الأمير عبد القادر من خلال الكاتب شارل تيار في كتابه \"الجزائر في الأدب الفرنسي الصادر في 1925 م\"، والذي قاد مقاومة عسكرية طويلة الأمد ضد الاحتلال الفرنسي ووقف في وجه التوسع العسكري، وقد عرف في الكتابات الفرنسية بالمتصوف والشاعر والمرابط والمحارب، ويدرس هذا الكتاب الجزائر في المؤلفات الأدبية الفرنسية بصفة عامة، غير أنه اهتم كثيرا بشخصية الأمير التي انعكست في الأعمال الأدبية الفرنسية تحديدا الشعر والمسرح حيث كتب عنه فيكتور هيغو، غير أن كتاباته وأشعاره ارتبطت بمدى حسن علاقته بنابليون الثالث، إلى جانب مسرحيات تناولت شخصيته في أطر ليست صحيحة، وحاولت هذه الأعمال تحريف حقيقة وطنية وثورية الأمير عبد القادر الجزائري.
