Overview
تزخر اليمن بعدد كبير من الرقصات الشعبية، ذات الأصول القديمة، استمرت ومازالت محافظة على طابعها القديم، الذي يتصل بعضه بطقوس حربية، وأخرى طقوس الصيد القديم، وأخرى طقوس تتعلق بالزراعة وغيرها، وكل تلك الرقصات لها محبون وهواة كثر. وبحكم التنوع الجغرافي لليمن، تنوعت تلك الرقصات بشكل واسع، فلكل منطقة طريقتها أحياناً، وقد تتشابه بعض المناطق في بعض تلك الرقصات، ومازالت تستخدم معها الآلات التقليدية، المتمثلة غالباً في الطبول والعصي والخناجر. وقد انتقلت بعض تلك الرقصات إلى المهجر مع المهاجرين، وتطورت، وأخذت لها طابعاً خاصاً، إلا أنها بقيت بأصولها التي تميزها.
