استعرض المقال موضوع بعنوان أحمد فارس الشدياق: ريادة سردية .. تنقد بإتباعية. أشار إلى اختلاف الباحثون ومؤرخو الأدب حول ريادة كتابة أول رواية عربية، ويعود ذلك الاختلاف إلى المعايير المعتمدة في إثبات الريادة وتدخل عوامل ذاتية ومناطقية، وأوضح أن القول بأن الرواية جنسا جديدا بنى على الملحمة يعد دليل على خضوع مؤرخي الأدب ونقاده العرب للهيمنة الثقافية الاستعمارية، حيث كان الاستعمار جاثما على الحياة العربية وجعل العربي أكثر تبعية للغرب الاستعماري، لذا فقد عمدت الباحثة رضوى عاشور على التدليل على أن كتاب (الساق على الساق فيما هو الفارياق) لأحمد فارس الشدياق يعد أول رواية عربية. واختتم المقال بالتوصل إلى أن الباحثة رضوى عاشور كشفت عن الخصائص الأسلوبية لكتاب (الساق على الساق فيما هو الفارياق) أكثر مما كشفت عن خصائصه السردية. كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2024
