Overview
لعب الجنرال سوهارتو دورا حاسما في قمع محاولة الانقلاب التي وقعت في عام 1965، فبعد أن تم الإعلان عن الانقلاب من قبل حركة الثلاثين من أيلول، اتخذ سوهارتو إجراءات حازمة لقمع الحركة واستعادة النظام، قاد عمليات تطهير في الجيش لإزالة المتورطين في الانقلاب والمعارضين للنظام الحالي، وبدعم من القوات الموالية له والقوى الأمنية، نجح سوهارتو في إعادة السيطرة على الوضع وقمع الحركة بسرعة وبشكل حاسم.
