هدف البحث إلى إلقاء الضوء على خصائص المدرسة الكويتية الحديثة في عزف العود، وحصر العوامل المؤثرة في تطور العزف بالمدرسة الكويتية الحديثة، وسرد السير الذاتية لأهم رواد العزف على آلة العود بالمدرسة الكويتية الحديثة، ولتحقيق هذا الهدف اتبع الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي على أحد النماذج بالمدرسة الكويتية الحديثة وهو (سماعي إبراهيم طامي)، وقد أسفرت النتائج عن وجود العديد من الخصائص الفنية مثل تنوع أسلوب استخدام الريشة بجميع أشكالها كالمرتعشة والهابطة والصاعدة والفرداش والمزدوجه
