Overview
أخذت مسألة ضم ولاية الموصل للعراق أبعادا قانونية وتاريخية ومناكفات سياسية على ضم الولاية خاصة بعد التأكيدات باحتواء المنطقة على كميات هائلة من النفط وهو ما ثبت لاحقا، وتعتبر هذه المنطقة الآن من أغنى المناطق في العالم بحقول وآبار النفط، لكن هذا الخلاف تم حسمه من عصبة الأمم المتحدة التي استعانت بالرأي القانوني لمحكمة العدل الدولية بعد أن مضت أشواطا كبيرة في محاولة حسم الصراع على مسألة ضم الموصل بين تركيا والعراق وبريطانيا.
