Overview
لاقت الفكـرة التـي طرحهـا الأردن علـى العـراق مـن أجـل تزویـده بجـزءٍ مـن میـاه نهـر الفرات، قبولاً من قبل الحكومة العراقیة التي أبدت رغبتهـا فـي تنفیـذ هـذا المشـروع عبـر مد أنابیب تستخدم لهذا الغرض، مكلفةً عدة شركات عالمیة لوضع الدراسات والتصامیم الخاصة به، لكن العوامل السیاسیة ومسائل التمویـل وقفـت عائقـاً أمـام البلـدین لتحقیـق ما كان قد اتفقا علیه بشأنه، رغم أن الأردن كـان یعّـول كثیـرًاً علـى تنفیـذ هـذا المشـروع من أجل حل أزمته المائیة التي كان یعاني منها في ثمانینات القرن الماضي.
