يهدف هذا المقال إلى مراجعة نص المقريزي المشهور عن حرب عبد الله بن سعد للنوبة عام 31 ه/ 652 م وعن البقط، وتحليله ونقده من اجل الوقوف على مدى مصداقيته فيما يتصل بقوله مثلا بدخول الحملة مملكة مقرة وحصار عاصمتها دنقلة وضربها بالمنجنيق ومقابلة ملكها. يقارن المقال بين ما ذكره المقريزي أعلاه وبين ما ورد في المصادر الأخرى في هذا الأمر بغية الخروج برؤية واضحة حول هذا الموضوع.
