يتناول البحث وصية منسوبة إلى السلطان الأيوبي الملك الصالح أيوب ابن الملك الكامل (637- 647هـ/ 1239- 1249م)، موجهة إلى ابنه وولي عهده الملك المعظم توران شاه، ويسعى إلى التعرف إلى المستفيدين من هذه الوصية، بتحليل نصها، وما نتج عنها وتسببت فيه من أحداث خلال مدة حكم توران شاه القصيرة، مستعيناً بالمصادر؛ لتوضيح ما إذا كانت سليمة من التزوير والزيادة، وألحق بالبحث نص الوصية من مصدرها.
