Overview
تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى توضيح مفهوم النفاذ الحر للمعلومات كواحد من أنواع المنشورات المختلفة (كتب، مجلات علمية محكمة، ومواقع الإلكترونية، وقواعد البيانات) حيث يشير ذلك إلى عدم وجود قيود في الوصول إلى الإنتاج الفكري العلمي على جميع أشكاله (بحوث منشورة، ومجلات علمية محكمة، أوراق مؤتمرات، وأطروحات، فصول من الكتب)، ويمكن أن يشمل النفاذ الحر كذلك البحث والتنقيب عن البيانات. فهناك على الصعيد العالمي أكثر من 20000 مجلة للنفاذ الحر، وتم فهرسة حوالي 9000 مجلة في دليل دوريات الوصول المفتوح The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). حيث تم استخدام أسلوب دراسة الحالة لمستودع جامعة نايف العربية للعلوم الأمنية.
